OUR PROCESS

This strategic plan was developed through a highly engaged and collaborative process that allowed all key stakeholders, including you, the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the SSU.

Guided by the leadership of the Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee, we worked hard to ensure every part of the Sheridan community had a part to play.

Collaboration

The development of this plan has come at a unique time in the life of Sheridan College. With both the SSU and Sheridan proceeding with strategic planning initiatives at the same time, there was an opportunity to coordinate activities and share information that helped inform both plans and affirm the importance of the partnership between the SSU and the college.

 

FOCUS GROUPS

To do this, we began with direction setting sessions with the SSU Board and senior student leaders, followed by engagement of the college’s senior leadership team. Planning and development sessions involving over 50 student leaders and all members of the SSU staff team followed and this set the foundation for the key elements of the plan.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

In addition to these focused sessions, over 500 students contributed their feedback and considerations through a social media campaign. You provided invaluable feedback that assisted in crystallizing our true areas of focus as an organization.

 

SHERIDAN PARTNERS

Subsequent follow up sessions were completed with both key college administrators that aided in the alignment and coordination of the plan with this important partner. Student leaders and staff were additionally engaged to ensure that SSU actions and activities were well aligned with the plan.
